Did you know that children are sold for sex right here in the U.S.? There’s no way to sugar coat this topic – it’s horrible, awful and heinous. Yet it’s happening in nearly every city in this country.
Stick with me here for just a few facts:
- 13 is the average age of a child being trafficked. (that’s average, people)
- Approximately 100,000 U.S. children are trafficked in the U.S. for sex every year.
- There are fewer than 100 beds specifically designated for child victims of sex trafficking.
StreetlightUSA is an organization working to raise awareness, collaborating with other organizations to prevent child sex trafficking and working to change the stories for young girls victimized by this awful crime. Streetlight has a 48 bed facility for girls age 11-17 (from all over the U.S.) who are victims of sex trafficking. Remember my stat above about how many beds are available for these girls? The Streetlight program is specifically designed to help these girls re-write their story, recover, heal and thrive.
If this topic gets under your skin like it does mine, go to the Streetlight website and learn more. Become an Ambassador for Change to fight this horrible injustice.

Maybe you already own our DVDs — thank you! But maybe you have a friend who could really use it? And you might even share what you learned here about child trafficking and StreetlightUSA.
We can make a difference. We need to fight for these girls.
Thank you.
